  • A firm believer in the value of travel for fostering understanding between different cultures, Caroline has always loved discovering new places and their people, and sharing these stories with others.
  • Having run away to Paris, and then never left, she often writes about the French capital and/or wider France — especially if it involves anything vegan, vintage or very old.
  • Also passionate about sustainable travel, her all-time career highlight was meeting and interviewing the leading British environmentalist Sir David Attenborough.

A journalist with a wealth of experience, Caroline began her career in the UK's regional press, starting out in news and then going on to work in features. After being promoted to editor of a weekly entertainment supplement, which saw her interview many well-known names, she went on to edit a monthly lifestyle magazine of more than 250 pages. Since turning freelance, Caroline has written for titles including The Guardian, France Today, Taste of France, Euronews, and Culture Trip, among others. Now based in Paris, just north of Montmartre, she has a specialism in travel, culture and sustainability, and likes nothing more than seeking out the lesser-known spots away from the main tourist trail. In addition to her writing, Caroline is a copy editor on the Louis Vuitton City Guides, currently working on Rio, Singapore and Venice. A member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, the Anglo-American Press Association and the National Union of Journalists, Caroline is also a founding member and co-director of the Society of Freelance Journalists — with some 2,700 members across the world.

As well as a bachelor's degree in English Language & Literature from the University of London, Caroline has a senior diploma in journalism from the UK's National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). A fan of lifelong learning, she continues to attend many industry seminars — occasionally appearing on panels herself — and she is also a mentor for the journalism undergraduate programme at Birmingham City University.
